About Me

From Shropshire lass, to living as an Expat.

I have always had a passion for art and originally trained as a graphical artist, but soon realised this was too restricted for me. After various non artistic jobs, I found the courage to go to University as a mature student and studied Fine Art at Wolverhampton. Whilst there, I was finally confirmed as Dyslexic which actually came as a strange relief. The support I received inspired me to become an art tutor, so I could help other adults interested in art, break down some of the barriers to learning.

At Wolverhampton University, I gained a BA Hons degree in Fine Art as Social Practice, and then I went on to achieve teaching qualifications in Further Education (CTLLS in FE)

My teaching experience varies from working in Family Learning with parents and children as young as 4, to working part time in Prison Education for over 9 years. Until leaving the UK, I worked with adult beginners and intermediates for Telford College of Art Technology. I also taught private groups at various locations and ran successful art workshops and day trips. Now living in the Algarve for over 4 years, I teach small, friendly and successful groups across the Algarve, as well as at week long Art Retreats. When not teaching, I take on Commissions and Mural art.

Originally from Shropshire, but now based in the Algarve, Portugal. I am lucky to say I have some of the most beautiful scenery on my door step to inspire. I have traveled throughout the UK and Europe, which I feel comes out in my colourful work.
